CCSD Offers Free Summer School

Parents, if you have ever needed to put your child in summer school pre-pandemic, then you know that summer school has not been offered for free in an extremely long time, until now. In years past, summer school was as expensive as one hundred and twenty-five dollars per class, with the max number of classes offered at a time being two. Since being hit with the pandemic, CCSD has decided that summer school will be free for the second year in a row. As a school counselor, whenever I made calls to parents about their child needing summer school and divulged the cost, you could hear the concern. Some parents are concerned about having multiple students in their household that would need it, others who are single parents and only have one source of income, or simply just being unable to afford it because household bills take precedence. My advice to you is to take advantage of this educational opportunity. The truth is, summer school cannot be offered free without extra funding. So since we understand that summer school can’t be free forever, it’s time to sign your students up for summer school if they are short on credits. Credits? What are credits? Don’t worry, just call your school counselor and they will explain what credits are and if your child is short any. For more information, please click the link below.
