The
West Las Vegas Library kicked off Women’s History Month on March 1, with an evening focusing on guiding women toward a path to self-discovery and acceptance. The library also hosted a “Voices of Women” event on March 5, which highlighted the artistry and influence of American author, poet, and civil rights activist Maya Angelou.

If you missed out on those two events, there’s plenty more to look forward to this month. On Saturday, March 12, the library will host “In Her Own Words: Women in Poetry”, where women from all walks of life come together to read their poetry.

March 19 will be an eventful day at West Las Vegas Library with two special events. From noon-2 p.m., join in on the “Women, Policy, Politics” panel discussion facilitated by Leisa Mosley. Then from 3 p.m.-5 p.m., Eboni Browning will facilitate a lecture series on “How to Leave Your 9 to 5”, for those looking to leave their day job and seek opportunities outside of the corporate world.

On March 26, at noon, the Women’s History Month celebration at West Las Vegas Library will end with “Within Me,” an event focusing on women finding their power through visual art and sound healing. Highlights will include, tarot readings, a crystal workshop, and more.
